Summer Job at Teater Halland

What is the summer job about?

Region Halland and Teater Halland have collaborated for three summers on a project where young people create a theater performance and present it for children throughout Halland. For the summer of 2026, we are once again looking for theater-interested youth for this summer job.

The performances will take place at various public locations in Halland. The summer job lasts for three weeks, with the first week dedicated to creating the performance to be shown. There is no finished script; instead, you, along with a few other young people, will create a play based on your skills, interests, and imagination. A project leader and two actors, Anna-Carin Henricsson and Veronica Dahlström, will assist you and be available throughout the performance period.

The remaining two weeks will be spent performing your play for children in Halland's towns, ideally outdoors. If the weather is poor, it may take place indoors at a suitable location. We plan to give three to four performances per day and location.

Rehearsals during the first week will take place at Teater Halland's venue in Monarkhuset in Varberg. During the weeks we perform, morning gatherings will be held in Varberg, and you will drive to and from the location where we will perform that day. Other arrangements may be available depending on where in Halland you live.

If you need to take a bus/train to get to the workplace, Region Halland will cover the cost of a card for Hallandstrafiken.

Who are we looking for?

For this summer job, we are looking for you who live in Halland, are interested in, and enjoy acting. You may also be involved in dance or play an instrument. Previous experience in theater is a plus. You should be between 16 and 19 years old. Please write a few lines about yourself in your application.

As you will be part of a group working together, it is important that you can collaborate. We also expect you to be a positive and engaged person who enjoys challenges. You need to have a good command of the Swedish language. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
